On April 11, 2015 the Act on Climate March became the largest climate rally in Canada’s history. Over 100 buses brought interested citizens from across the country for the family friendly march in Quebec City. More than 25,000 people attended, and dozens of other rallies were held across the country.

Responsibilities:

  • Led creative direction for Act on Climate March, designed mock-ups, logo and brand standards for client’s approval; produced graphics, posters and social media content; outlined communications strategy.

  • Developed slogan, copy and key messaging in both English and French, worked collaboratively with the English and French organizers to unite distinct needs into a unified communications strategy.

  • Managed a team of web developers and community organizers in creating, promoting and mobilizing bilingual website; gathered and showcased high-profile endorsements; mobilized mailing list of 10,000+ RSVPs.

  • Built relationships with 12 leading environmental organizations and 100+ community groups across the country to engage in meaningful action; ensured logistical information was available leading up to the March; secured high-profile endorsements.

  • Transformed website into ‘Day of Action’ page on the day of the rally, which included a Twitter stream, image feed, and live video, all of which was user generated by participants.
